Mark and Alyssa are both nurses and met at work in Chicago, Illinois. She’s simple, sweet and innocent as she looks and he’s laidback, calm, and soft-spoken. They began their relationship as friends but it didn’t take long for their co-workers to set them up, thinking they would be perfect for each other. They went on their first date at the Lights festival at Lincoln Park Zoo. They enjoyed taking pictures of the Christmas light displays and ended the day with a snap from a photo booth. After several more dates, they were in love. They built a life together and went through the good and bad times, embracing each other’s flaws/weaknesses/imperfections and at the same time working through them. Communication is also important to them – even for small things. After 2-3 years of living together, Mark decided to get down on one knee to ask Alyssa to marry him! Family and friends were thrilled and wholeheartedly accepted the news. No muss, no fuss, and no objections. And since both are Filipinos, Mark and Alyssa decided to get married in the Philippines.
On the day of the wedding, rain poured but it didn’t dampen the couple’s high spirits and the mood one bit. They tied the knot in a sweet ceremony at the Caleruage Church followed by a lively cocktail and reception dinner at Narra Hill. See more from their big day here.
